Chocolates for the occasion
Written at Friday, February 25, 2011 | back to top

Alright. Ari Jie, you've been waiting for this post.
Haha. Alright, I'll start then.

So. Please don't misunderstand the title.
I don't know what title to write seriously.
I've made truffles for self.
Not for anyone else. (I suppose, unless my friends wanna try them.)

Here's the post and pics and steps =)
1st, you have to melt the chocolate,
by pouring the boiled whipping cream on the raw chocolate.
And you'll have something that looks like this:

Suddenly, I'm speaking like the guy from ArtAttack. Haha.
Then, you need to chill the chocolate in the fridge til it's firm.
And then, you can scoop an amount, then you can roll each one of them round.
But becareful though.
The chocolate melt easily.

Tip: It's best if you use your hands to roll them round.
Using spoons will cause frustration. Haha.
And please wash your hand after each rolling of chocolate is performed.

After that, you'll get a perfectly rounded chocolate.
Quickly, put it in a bowl filled with cocoa powder.
Roll it around so that it will be covered with cocoa powder.
And you'll get something that looks like this:

Yeah. It actually can be eaten.
This is truffles.
Well, I made 'Double-chocolate' truffles,
so it ain't over for me.

Then, you can melt another piece of raw chocolate.
But not direct heat.
You will end up burning the chocolate if you do that.
So, use double boiler.
Either the electronical one, or use another bigger pot and fill it with water.
Boil the water, put the pot with chocolate over the pot with water.
Melt it that way will not damage the chocolate =)
And this is how melted chocolate looks like:

Yeah. Very very very thick.
It's so freaking hard to coat the truffles with another layer of thick chocolate.
But I had no choice. I can't just stop at step 2.
'Cos the truffles will melt easily if I don't cover it with another layer of thicker chocolate.

And the final product.
Let you see how my truffles look after being covered with another layer.

Not bad huh? But they are no longer round. So sad.
They got those spiky hair instead T_T
Dear friends, hope your mouth is not hurt eating it =P

Up close shot. This one is the best one I've ever coated. Haha.

That's all folks.
PS: Apparently this post took longer. Haha. Since 10am I've been leaving this post alone while I busy doing what my senior asked me to.
Lol.~
